About
PHILOSOPHY I believe the world is often a beautiful kind of organized chaos. Through Mark the Observer, I seek not just to take photographs, but to witness moments—finding solitude within the crowd and stillness within the noise. THE VISION My work is defined by high-contrast monochrome imagery, chosen to strip away color and reveal the raw emotion, texture, and scale of a scene. Whether it’s a lone figure set against a vast landscape or the gritty details of a craftsman’s workshop, I’m drawn to stories told through light and shadow. THE JOURNEY Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, I moved toward high-resolution digital photography to better capture the intricate patterns and quiet tension I see every day. My tremor and my unique relationship to colour have shaped my process, leading me to embrace the bold clarity of black-and-white fine art. I invite you to view the world through my lens—one observation at a time.
